Transformation into Medusa with Living Serpents

German supermodel Heidi Klum (52) transformed into Medusa, the monster from Greek mythology, at her 24th annual Halloween party held at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York on October 31, 2025.

With her face and body covered in green scales, fake serpents writhing from her head and torso, and bright green contact lenses, Klum's transformation was so complete that she was barely recognizable. The addition of a special effects forked tongue brought the mythical Medusa to life.

Klum posted photos of her Medusa costume on Instagram with the message, "Stare too long and you'll turn to stone." This cleverly referenced the myth that anyone who looked at Medusa would turn to stone.

Completing the Mythological Scene with Her Husband

Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, dressed as a soldier turned to stone by Medusa, completing Klum's concept. The couple's coordinated costumes transcended simple costuming and were praised as theatrical storytelling that conveyed a complete narrative.

On the morning of the party, Klum heightened fans' anticipation by gradually revealing her transformation process on Instagram. She first shared a close-up of eerie fangs, then showed step-by-step how lime green makeup and latex special effects were applied to her face.

Surpassing Herself Every Year

In an interview with People magazine a week before the party, Klum revealed, "This year will be very ugly" and "I always try to do something different." Indeed, her Medusa costume is considered the most elaborate and spine-chilling of all her transformations.

The costume history of Klum, known as the Queen of Halloween, is legendary in itself. In 2016, she became Jessica Rabbit from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," in 2017 the werewolf from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video, and in 2018 Princess Fiona from "Shrek."

In 2024, she dressed as the alien from "E.T.," later telling "The Tonight Show" that "I loved being E.T." In 2023, she and her husband created a giant peacock costume that required 15 assistants to operate.

Klum explained that her 2022 worm costume "felt too simple," which led her to create the more complex peacock outfit. This annual effort to surpass herself has made her the undisputed Queen of Halloween.

The 2025 party was attended by celebrities including actor Darren Criss, broadcaster Tamron Hall, and beauty influencer James Charles. Attendees illuminated the event with sexy, scary, and creative costumes.
