Tottenham's new manager candidate Sean Dyche directly dismisses rumors of his appointment: "We are not in negotiations."
In response to a series of reports from the British media, the person involved explained that he was drinking Guinness in a pub.

- •Son Heung-min's Tottenham, British media reported Sean Dyche as a candidate for the next manager.
- •Daichi directly denied the negotiation rumors, saying, “I was drinking Guinness at the pub.”
- •Tottenham is currently in 17th place in the PL, one point away from the relegation zone.
British media reports, “Daiichi is likely to become Tottenham’s successor as manager”
Controversy continues surrounding the appointment of a new manager for Tottenham Hotspur, where Son Heung-min plays. British local media repeatedly mentioned coach Sean Dyche as a candidate for the next head coach, but the person in question directly denied this.
Graham Bailey of the British media 'Team Talk' exclusively reported on the 28th (Korean time), "It is known that Dyche is willing to sit at the head of Tottenham as interim manager Igor Tudor's successor." According to reports, Tottenham are focusing on finding a successor before formalizing Tudor's resignation, and are seriously considering appointing coach Dyche, who was recently sacked at Nottingham Forest. In particular, it is analyzed that the experience of competing for relegation is acting as a positive factor.
Previously, ‘The Sun’ also reported exclusively on the 12th, “If Tottenham fires interim manager Tudor, Daichi is being discussed as a likely successor.”
Daichi “I was drinking Guinness at the pub and I heard you were negotiating.”
However, Director Daichi directly denied these reports. According to Britain's 'Tribuna', Daichi said on the 29th, "I was in a pub near my house. Someone said, 'I heard that you are negotiating with Tottenham today,'" and "I replied, 'I'm drinking a glass of Guinness next to you right now, there's no way that's happening.'"
Daichi said, "If you are linked to a specific club, articles keep coming out. No matter what you do, it becomes a very embarrassing situation. Tottenham is a great and large club. When you say, 'It's an honor,' people interpret it as 'I didn't reject you.'" He confirmed that he is not actually involved in any discussions with Tottenham.
Tottenham, on the verge of relegation, urgent need to appoint a manager
The background to reports that Tottenham is considering Daichi as a candidate is a serious lack of performance. Tottenham is currently ranked 17th in the Premier League (PL) with 7 wins, 9 draws, 15 losses, and 30 points out of 31 games. They are only 1 point behind 18th place West Ham United (29 points), and if they fall just one place, they will enter the relegation zone.
Daichi has experience leading several PL clubs, including Watford, Burnley, Everton, and Nottingham Forest, since 2011. In particular, he received attention for his achievement of keeping Everton, who was on the verge of relegation in the 2022-2023 season, in the league despite the unfavorable conditions of '0 recruits' in the winter transfer market. They are known to use solid defense and long ball counterattack tactics based on the 4-4-2 formation.
The issue of Tottenham's manager appointment is still in the fog. As Daichi denied the rumors of his appointment, attention is focused on what direction the club will take.
