The U.S. State Department is waging a pressure campaign against the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) to prevent a potential investigation into the Trump administration's campaign of boat strikes in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. According to multiple reports, State Department Legal Adviser Carl Anderson attended a historic March 13 hearing in Guatemala City and publicly rebuked the commission, declaring it lacked the competence to review legal claims related to the strikes.
