She exited director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's major film 'Spirit' after demanding an 8-hour workday, while simultaneously earning the honor of becoming the first Indian female actress to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Soon after giving birth to her daughter Dua, Deepika requested clear adherence to working hours from the production team. Unlike corporate jobs with set hours, film shoots often continue for days without rest depending on production schedules. While many actresses have raised concerns about excessive working hours, most have been ignored.

Following Deepika's departure, 'Spirit' continued production with Triptii Dimri cast as the new lead. News also broke of a sequel to one of her signature films, 'Cocktail', but Deepika's name was absent from the casting list. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the highest honors given to entertainment industry professionals worldwide. While Deepika became the first Indian female actress to receive this honor, there's a complex process behind it.

According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, anyone can nominate a celebrity by paying a fee, with final selection made by a committee. After selection, the ceremony must be held within two years, or renomination is required. Additionally, the cost to create and install a star is approximately 72 million won (about $55,000).

Industry observers suggest Deepika's nomination came through sponsorship from a luxury brand she models for. She has appeared in only one Hollywood film (XXX: Return of Xander Cage), and her Hollywood presence is lower compared to Priyanka Chopra, who lives in Los Angeles and maintains active Hollywood work.

Nevertheless, Deepika's decision holds significant meaning for the Indian entertainment industry. She confronted the reality of actresses forced to choose between motherhood and career, taking the first step toward improving working conditions.
