European Premiere of Musical Film 'Wicked: For Good' Held

The European premiere of 'Wicked: For Good,' the second installment of the two-part musical film 'Wicked,' took place on November 10 at Cineworld Leicester Square in London. Lead actors Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo drew attention as they walked hand-in-hand down a yellow brick road specially prepared in place of the traditional red carpet.

The venue was decorated with pink and white flowers, and the two actresses showcased a different style from their previous promotional appearances for Part 1. While they primarily wore outfits incorporating their characters' signature colors of pink and green during the 2024 press tour, this time they opted for gothic-style dark-toned dresses.

The Actors' Fashion Choices

Grande, 32, wore a one-shoulder black dress adorned with glittering polka dots, while Erivo, 38, chose a dark blue and black dress featuring detachable PVC-textured sleeves.

Jeff Goldblum (73), who plays the Wizard in the film, paired a long overcoat with a green vest and added a silver brooch as an accent. British actor Jonathan Bailey, who portrays Prince Fiyero, wore a grey ensemble with a red poppy in commemoration of Remembrance Day.

Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh, who plays Madame Morrible, and director Jon M. Chu also attended, along with British celebrities including Cat Burns, Jonathan Ross, and Amanda Holden.

The Story of 'Wicked: For Good'

'Wicked: For Good' continues from where Part 1 ended, following the story of green-skinned witch Elphaba (Erivo) after parting ways with her friend Glinda (Grande). Elphaba becomes demonized by the people of Oz and transforms into the 'Wicked Witch of the West.'

The film is based on the 2004 Broadway musical that earned Idina Menzel the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. The musical was adapted from Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel of the same name, which was inspired by L. Frank Baum's 1900 children's novel and the 1939 film 'The Wizard of Oz' starring Judy Garland.

Release Schedule

'Wicked: For Good' is set to premiere in UK and Ireland theaters on November 21. Building on the box office success of Part 1 and enthusiastic fan response, anticipation is running high for this concluding chapter of the two-part series.
