During a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef presented a detailed report on the rights of individuals whose nationality was revoked under Article 5(a) of Decree Law No. 15 of 1959.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the dignity and rights of these groups in accordance with current regulations. The provision in question applies to individuals who were granted nationality through noble acts.

Strengthening International Cooperation

The cabinet confirmed the official delegation list that will accompany His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on his visit to Paris next week. The delegation includes key senior officials such as Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, and Director General of the Public Investment Authority.

Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya reported on the outcomes of British Foreign Secretary David Lammy's recent visit. The Second Kuwait-UK Strategic Dialogue was held, and three key agreements were signed to strengthen the historic bilateral cooperation.

Kuwait Vision 2035 Progress Update

Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Subaih Al-Mukaizeem and Acting Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development Ahmed Al-Zanahi delivered a comprehensive presentation on Kuwait Vision 2035.

The five strategic pillars of Vision 2035 are:

  2. Supportive government
  3. Sustainable prosperity
  4. Empowered citizens
  5. International economic hub

Currently, 141 key projects included in the 2025-2026 development plan are underway. Major initiatives include Mubarak Al-Kabir Port, Kuwait Airport Terminal 2 expansion, New Al-Sabah Hospital, South Sabah Al-Ahmad residential project, and a 900-megawatt gas turbine power plant in the Subbiya area.

Development Project Status Review

Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel Al-Askar and Industrial Authority officials presented the progress of the Multi-Purpose Service Zone (formerly Shuwaikh Free Trade Zone) with visual materials. It was confirmed that measures are being taken in cooperation with relevant authorities to address current challenges.

The cabinet also reviewed the minutes of the Economic Ministerial Committee meeting. This included approval of the draft decree-law on the final accounts of independent budget agencies for fiscal year 2024-2025, covering the Central Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait Credit Bank, Arab Fund for Economic Development, Zakat House, Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund, KUNA, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, and Public Authority for Housing Welfare.
