From Storage Unit to High-Tech Headquarters

The Batcave in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has been officially revealed via the PlayStation Blog. Developers aimed to honor the many iterations of the iconic lair across 85 years of Batman history while delivering a brand-new experience powered by the creative versatility of LEGO bricks.

The Batcave does not begin as a finished fortress. It starts as Alfred's old storage unit and gradually transforms into a cutting-edge operations base through technological breakthroughs by Lucius Fox at Wayne Industries. Players spend studs collected throughout the game to furnish new areas and add props, making the space their own.

Your Batcave, Your Way

Beyond the obligatory science lab, training center, and garage, players can install an American diner, a cozy library, or a space-age command center. As Batman progresses through the eras, a growing wall of digital screens fills with artwork discovered across open-world Gotham City.

The trophy room delivers on fan expectations: the mechanical T-Rex, The Joker's giant playing card, the famous oversized U.S. penny, and surprise callbacks to earlier LEGO Batman video games are all present. Polka-Dot Man's polka dot ball pit earns a special mention from the developers. Completing the trophy collection requires thorough exploration of Gotham City.

Suit Vault and Batmobile Garage

The suit vault features wall-to-wall Batsuits for players to browse before equipping. The garage houses the full lineup of Batmobiles and Batcycles from across the Dark Knight's history—an impressive sight when displayed together.

Gadget Upgrades and Training

Gadget upgrades covering stealth, combat, and puzzle-solving are available for Batman and all playable allies. A customizable training course—grapple posts, balance beams, practice dummies, wall climbs—lets players test upgrades before heading into Gotham. A challenge terminal offers additional objectives with studs and Red Brick rewards.
