Accident While Driving Under Propofol
A man in his 30s who illegally administered propofol and then crashed into a streetlight while driving has been arrested and referred to prosecutors, according to the Uijeongbu Police Station.
The man was driving under the influence of propofol when he collided with a streetlight and fled the scene immediately after the accident. Propofol is a medical anesthetic, and its non-medical use constitutes a violation of the Narcotics Control Act.
Dangers of Driving After Drug Use
Propofol has a central nervous system depressant effect, making driving after administration as dangerous as drunk driving. Police are responding strictly to driving under the influence of narcotics, which led to the arrest in this case.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the drug administration, the source of the propofol, and the situation at the time of the accident.
