Nine fatalities from a fire at an auto parts manufacturing plant in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon were concentrated in a gym located in an unauthorized mezzanine structure that did not appear on the building's architectural plans.

Illegal Facility Not on Official Plans

Investigation of the fire scene revealed that the gym was located in a mezzanine space arbitrarily constructed by the building owner without official architectural plans.
