Finding the Team's Voice

LYON Saint candidly admitted he was apprehensive when he learned he would be teaming up with Inspired for the 2026 season.

"I had already heard stories about him. So when I found out we'd be playing together, I was a bit worried."

This was a reference to Inspired's well-known conflicts with Bwipo at FlyQuest during the 2025 season.

From Concern to Trust

However, Saint's perspective completely changed once they actually played together. Inspired was the first player to speak up whenever the team faced issues.

"Whenever there were problems on the team, Inspired was the one who took action. Taking on that responsibility or that role isn't easy."

Saint explained that while Inspired could sometimes use strong language, it purely stemmed from his desire to win. "I had no problem with that at all."

Clash of Strong Egos

Early in the 2026 season, LYON's roster struggled to find cohesion. This was because the ADC, mid laner, and jungler all had strong personalities.

"When we were first trying to find team chemistry, I had a lot of things I wanted to do. The ADC felt the same way, and so did the jungler."

These clashing perspectives created clear problems in-game. "There were many elements disrupting our harmony."

From 'Selfish' ADC to Team Player

Rather than imposing his own direction, Saint chose a different approach. He decided to adapt to his teammates' styles starting mid-season.

"Around mid-season, I thought, 'Maybe I should play to match their style.'"

This represented a shift away from the typical 'selfish' playstyle of the ADC position, prioritizing the team's overall flow instead. As Saint's compromise aligned with Inspired's proactive communication, LYON found stability in the latter half of the season.

The True Meaning of Leadership

What Saint emphasized about Inspired wasn't just skill, but responsibility and initiative. The courage to not remain silent when problems arise, and to initiate uncomfortable conversations first. That was the true leadership Inspired demonstrated at LYON.

Saint interpreted Inspired's strong tone positively, saying "He does it because he wants to win more." When there's a genuine desire for victory, even strong language doesn't harm the team.
