Unique marketing linking home runs and drinks

Mountain Dew is introducing a unique fan promotion for the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season. This event, named the 'Get a Baja for a Blast' campaign, provides free drinks to fans across the United States whenever a home run that flies more than 420 feet (approximately 128 meters) is hit during a game.

This promotion begins on MLB's opening day, and fans can participate by registering on Mountain Dew's official website and adding the 'Bazaar Blast Pass' to their mobile wallet. If a home run that meets the conditions is hit, you can receive a free drink the next day, and you can receive the benefit up to 5 times per person during the season.

According to Mountain Dew's official social media accounts, this event will run until September 27, 2026, or until a total of 500,000 bottles are sold out. On the MLB official website, you can check which home runs met the conditions through the real-time leaderboard.

In conjunction with this promotion, Mountain Dew also released a limited edition baseball glove in collaboration with Rawlings, a baseball equipment brand. This glove, which is Bazaar Blast's signature color of turquoise with gold accents, is made of Rawlings' premium line 'Heart of the Hide' leather and is priced at $399.99 (about 550,000 won).

A new attempt at sports marketing

Michael Smith, Vice President of Marketing at Mountain Dew, said, “Baseball is a sport made up of big moments such as big hits, big catches, and big swings,” and added, “Mountain Dew Bazaar Blast will deliver the ‘big sips’ that fit the bill.”

The standard of 420 feet corresponds to a long-distance home run that ranks among the top in MLB. Considering that the average home run distance as of the 2025 season is around 400 feet, it is expected that there will be only a few home runs per game that meet this condition. This can be interpreted as a strategy to continuously attract fans' interest by utilizing scarcity.
