In Capcom's upcoming third-person hacking shooter Pragmata, the lunar base known as the Cradle is a lethal place — patrolled by killer robots that appear with little warning. The Shelter, a tucked-away hub within the Cradle, is where protagonist Hugh can breathe, restock, and rebuild before heading back out. According to details shared via the PlayStation Blog, the Shelter goes far beyond a simple menu screen — it's a living space that grows alongside the game's central relationship.

Where a Bond Is Built

At the heart of the Shelter is the relationship between Hugh and Diana, an android in the form of a young girl he discovers in the Cradle. The developer describes their bond as "Pragmata's heart," woven into both its hacking-and-shooting mechanics and its narrative. Expanding and personalizing the Shelter is central to deepening that story.

Core Facilities

The Firmware Updater is the first port of call — it lets players enhance Hugh's suit and primary weapon (boosting HP and damage), as well as upgrade Diana's hacking abilities so that enemy armor stays open longer after a successful hack.

The Unit Printer consumes blue Lunafilament found throughout the Cradle to permanently unlock weapons and hacking nodes. Players can then swap these into their loadout any time they visit the Shelter, enabling tactical flexibility when facing tough bosses.

Fast Travel via Tram

Tramway entrances scattered across the Cradle act as checkpoints and fast travel nodes. Opening a new entrance allows players to teleport back from the Shelter's Tram, making backtracking for new abilities — a Metroidvania-style design — far less tedious.

Cabin, the Stamp Club, and Hidden Rewards

Deep enough into the Cradle, players unlock robotic assistant Cabin, who introduces the Stamp Club. Cabin Coins collected throughout the Cradle are stamped onto bingo cards, with completed bingos yielding Shelter expansions, outfits, upgrades, and lore files.

The Simulation Pod offers challenge levels — three per simulation — to farm more Cabin Coins and rare upgrade resources. The Data Library and Bot Database round out the Shelter, offering story files and enemy intel unlocked through the Stamp Club.

A Hub With Purpose

Modern action games increasingly blend mechanical prep spaces with narrative beats — think the boat in God of War or the bunker in Death Stranding. Pragmata's Shelter follows that tradition, integrating combat readiness with emotional storytelling in a single evolving location.
