Turkish Independent Film Wins International Festival Award

Director Hatice Aşkın's 'Adresi Olmayan Ev (The House Without an Address)' won the 'Best Film Award' at the 3rd Tirana European Youth Film Festival. After completing its 15th screening in Albania, the work received acclaim from both the jury and audiences for its exploration of memory, justice, and social authority.

The jury cited "powerful direction, highly immersive cinematography, and inspiring performances" as reasons for the award. The film stars Boran Kuzum, Osman Sonant, Cansete Paçal, Zeynep Tuğçe Bayat, and Emet Çölgeçen, and has been released in Turkey, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Montenegro, Sweden, Kosovo, and Italy.

The work depicts a dystopian world where society condemns individuals for nine major sins and erases all traces and memories of them through a systematic process.

Istanbul 'City Building' Exhibition Opens

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Cultural Affairs and Cultural Heritage Directorates opened the exhibition 'Building a City: Ankara 1923-1933' at Müze Gazhane. The exhibition focuses intensively on the urban construction process during the first decade after Ankara was designated as the capital.

Originally held in Ankara in 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vehbi Koç Foundation's establishment, this exhibition is sponsored by Koç University VEKAM and curated by Ali Cengizkan and Müge Cengizkan. The opening ceremony was attended by numerous figures from architecture, art, history, academia, and politics.

The exhibition unfolds the narrative of how a new city was born from a war-weary nation, exploring the ambitions and realities of the Republic's first decade through a housing-centered perspective. The exhibition runs through March 22, 2026, and is open daily except Mondays from 10 AM to 6 PM with free admission.
