Jeon Ji-hyun returns to the screen 11 years after ‘Assassination’

Actress Jeon Ji-hyun returns to the screen after 11 years. His next film is the movie 'Colony', directed by Yeon Sang-ho, director of 'Train to Busan' and 'Peninsula'.

'Colony' is a thriller that tells the story of a building being sealed off by an unidentified virus, where infected people evolve into unpredictable forms and threaten the survivors. Jeon Ji-hyun plays the role of Kwon Se-jeong, the leader of the survivors and a bioengineer.

Characters and still cuts revealed

In the newly released still cuts, Kwon Se-jeong appears in various situations. It includes scenes of moving forward with a determined expression, scenes of freezing in shock upon witnessing the infected, and scenes of an urgent confrontation with the infected.

Kwon Se-jeong is a person who failed to be reappointed as a professor due to his inability to tolerate injustice. At the suggestion of her ex-husband Han Gyu-seong (played by Go Soo), who was trying to introduce her to a new job, she visits the building where the academic conference is being held, but ends up trapped in a blockade. As a bioengineer, he analyzes the behavior and evolution patterns of unidentified infected people and leads the survivors to escape.

Regarding the reason for choosing this work, Jeon Ji-hyun said, "I was originally a fan of director Yeon Sang-ho, and more than anything, I found the well-written 'Colony' scenario very attractive."

Director Yeon Sang-ho praised Jeon Ji-hyun, saying, "I was surprised by her ability to immerse herself in the moment. I once again felt why she is evaluated as a veteran actress."

‘Colony’ is scheduled to be released in theaters in May.
