Russian Night Attack Claims 3 Civilian Lives
Ukrainian authorities announced on the 28th (local time) that a Russian attack the previous night killed three civilians. Two of the victims died near the capital Kyiv, while a building in central Kyiv suffered severe damage from a drone strike.
The attack occurred on day 1,434 of the Ukraine war. Russia continues to launch sustained strikes targeting major Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.
Ukraine-Hungary Diplomatic Conflict
On the same day, Ukraine summoned the Hungarian ambassador. This was in response to the Hungarian government's accusation that Ukraine attempted to interfere in its domestic elections.
This represents a continuation of ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two nations. Hungary has maintained a relatively moderate stance toward Russia among EU member states, which has contributed to deteriorating relations with Ukraine.
Danish PM Warns Europe on China
Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen issued a warning to some European countries seeking to strengthen ties with China. She reminded them that China is supporting Russia and emphasized that Europe must take a cautious approach.
This statement is interpreted as putting the brakes on recent moves by some European countries to improve relations with China for economic reasons.
