Throne regained after 10 years
Ann Marta Harnes, a 39-year-old Norwegian woman and mother of two children, reclaimed the Guinness World Record by collecting 4,000 Legend of Zelda memorabilia. The first time she set this record was in 2016, when her collection numbered 1,816 pieces.
Last July, Virginia's Constantin 'Koz' Adams took the record, but Harness did not give up. She rose to the top again by increasing her collection by a whopping 120%.
Zelda world worth 100 million won
The estimated value of Harnes' collection is approximately 1 million Norwegian krone, or approximately 100 million won in Korean won. Most of these are collectibles purchased directly.
Her most prized possession is a fishbone-shaped guitar called ‘Zoraxe.’ It was created by Dan Lawrence of Jackson Custom Guitars, inspired by his favorite game 'Majora's Mask', and is a rare piece of only 7 in the world.
An unfinished collection journey
“It’s been almost 10 years since we set the record, and our collection has continued to grow. The record was recently broken, and with Zelda’s 40th anniversary coming up, it was the perfect time to get it back.” Harness told Guinness.
Although she has regained her place as the world's best Zelda collector, her collecting is still ongoing. “The rare items I really want are the ones I haven’t found yet.”
