Kim Young-dae confirmed to enlist in active duty in April

Actor Kim Young-dae will enlist in the military in April. On the 25th, his agency Outer Universe announced, "Kim Young-dae plans to enlist in active duty in April and fulfill his national defense duties." The time of discharge is expected to be around October 2027.

Kim Young-dae shared his thoughts on military service in an interview at the end of last year's dramas 'To the Moon' and 'Dear X'. He expressed his intention to return, saying, "Military service is a process that all men go through, but it can feel like a brief pause in a long journey. After discharge, I want to take on more ambitious challenges and take on more roles that I can excel at."

From web drama debut to ‘Penthouse’ syndrome

Kim Young-dae debuted in the 2017 web drama ‘Unrequited Love’. Afterwards, he began to attract attention as a handsome character in 'An Unexpected Day', and gained explosive popularity by playing the role of Ju Ji-hoon in the SBS 'Penthouse' series.
