Lead actor of drama ‘Reacher’ physically clashes with neighbor

Alan Ritchson, the lead actor in the popular Amazon Prime Video series 'Reacher', was cleared of charges in a controversy over a physical fight with a neighbor. After investigating, police in Brentwood, Tennessee, USA concluded that Ritson's actions amounted to self-defense.

The incident began when Ritson got into an argument with his neighbor Ronnie Taylor while he was riding his motorcycle. The short video that was first released online sparked controversy because it only showed Ritson hitting Taylor. It was reported that two children, believed to be Ritson's children, were watching nearby at the time.

The situation later took a turn when a TikTok user released the entire 4-minute video. Taylor himself also admitted in a foreign media interview that he pushed Ritson twice.

According to a recently released unedited video, Taylor ran out onto the road, blocked Ritson, who was riding a motorcycle, and knocked him down. When Ritson asked, “What are you doing now?” Taylor responded, “This is the treatment you deserve.” Ritson pushed Taylor and asked, “Have you been drinking?” Taylor provoked him by saying, “Hit me,” but Ritson walked away.

However, when Taylor again blocked Ritson's exit and pushed him, Ritson fought back and said, "Stay still, are you out of your mind?" As Taylor got up, he said he was going to call the police and claimed he was filming the incident.

Police investigation concluded, self-defense recognized

A Brentwood police spokesperson said, "After reviewing the evidence, including video footage and witness statements, we have decided not to pursue criminal charges. It has been determined that Ritson's actions were in self-defense."

Police also reviewed a charge of reckless endangerment against Taylor, but Ritson did not want to press charges, so they closed the case in consultation with the District Attorney's Office.

After the full video was released, fans responded in support of Ritson. Some pointed out that the motorcycle speedometer in the video showed less than 25 miles per hour (approximately 40 km), which did not fit with Taylor's claim that he was "running like crazy."
