The birth of a country house that pursues integration with nature

A country house with harmony with nature as its core value was completed in the Monte Mor region, about 100 km from Sao Paulo, Brazil. This project, designed by the architectural office DB Arquitetos and overseen by architect David Bastos, was built with an area of ​​922 m2 on a 3,177 m2 site.

The client of this house is a family consisting of a couple in their 40s and 50s and their three children who have collaborated with the architecture office for a long time. The most important elements considered during the design process were 'freedom', 'integration with nature', and 'warmth'.

Family-centered custom design philosophy

Architect David Bastos reflected their lifestyle and values in the space based on close communication with the client's family. Located near Campinas, this house was designed to allow people to enjoy a leisurely country life away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Harmony with the natural environment has become a key design principle in Brazilian modern residential architecture. In particular, in areas near Sao Paulo, the demand for relaxation in nature while maintaining the convenience of city life is steadily increasing. This project is evaluated as a representative example of this trend.
