Wearable that reduces digital fatigue by detecting brain waves

'LIZE', a new concept wearable device to support the mental health of modern people who are overly exposed to digital content, has been unveiled. This device is a ‘neuro-responsive headset’ that detects the user’s brain activity in real time and automatically adjusts the augmented reality (AR) screen.

LIZE measures electroencephalogram (EEG) signals through electrodes placed on the forehead and behind the ears. Based on this data, AR visual effects and algorithms change adaptively, providing users with a calmer and more restorative digital environment. The key goal is to alleviate cognitive fatigue and negative mental states caused by overexposure to digital content.

Emotional design that goes beyond medical devices

This project explores whether brain sensing technology can evolve beyond the realm of clinical equipment into accessible, emotionally considerate products for everyday life. The key to the design is to avoid the clunkiness and visual complexity of existing medical devices while maintaining precise placement of EEG electrodes.

The device structure consists of two intersecting loops. The outer loop creates a clear silhouette, while the inner loop supports the sensor array to ensure consistent contact with the head. The result is a smooth, continuous and minimalist form that embodies both technical precision and a calm visual identity.

The dark, seamless visor gives the device an understated and protective character, while the soft geometry and minimal part lines create a sleek, less mechanical appearance.

A relationship where technology does not dominate users

LIZE combines sensor technology with sculptural wearable forms to present neuro-responsive technology as more thoughtful and human-centric. Rather than simply monitoring users, it proposes a restorative relationship where technology quietly supports well-being rather than dominating attention.

The visor-shaped front part creates a smooth and protective interface between the user and digital content. This is a visual embodiment of the concept of a device designed for an overstimulated mind.
