4.17 million copies in the first week, the highest initial release record in BTS' career
BTS broke its own record for highest first week sales with its 4th full-length album 'ARIRANG'. According to Hanteo Chart, 'ARIRANG', released on March 20, sold a total of 4,169,464 copies during the first week of release (March 20-26).
This number significantly exceeds the previous initial release record of 3,378,633 copies set by 'Map of the Soul: 7' released in 2020. In particular, it is noteworthy that more than 3.9 million copies were sold on the day of release, breaking the previous record in just one day.
Dominating global charts, title song ‘SWIM’ ranked first for 6 consecutive days
The album's global popularity is also overwhelming. As of March 27, 'ARIRANG' ranked first on the Apple Music Top Album Chart in 115 regions around the world. The title song 'SWIM' has remained at the top of Spotify's Global Top Song Daily Chart for 6 consecutive days since its release.
They won three awards with 'SWIM' on Music Bank, and their Netflix comeback special is garnering attention on various platforms, recording 18.4 million views within 24 hours of its release.
The meaning of the complete comeback
This 'ARIRANG' is BTS' full-length comeback album, and fans' expectations were focused on the fact that it was released after a hiatus from the group's activities. Each member's 'SWIM' remix is also expected to be released, so album activities are expected to continue for the time being.
Meanwhile, Big Hit Music announced that it is continuing to take legal action against BTS' rights violations, and is also taking active steps to protect artists.
