Final season confirmed with season 5 released

Apple TV+'s flagship science fiction drama 'For All Mankind' comes to a close with season 6. Apple officially announced the production of Season 6, the final season, at the same time that Season 5 will be released on March 27, 2026.

“It has been an incredible privilege to explore the ‘For All Mankind’ universe over six seasons,” said showrunners Matt Wolfert and Ben Nadivi, adding, “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to conclude the story in the way we’ve always dreamed of.” This work is known to have been planned together with Ronald D. Moore of ‘Battlestar Galactica’.

This drama, which began with the launch of Apple TV+ in 2019, is an alternative history that starts from the assumption that 'if the Soviet Union had landed on the moon before the United States.' This setting makes the space race more intense, leading to a future in which NASA goes beyond Apollo 17 to Mars and builds a permanent settlement on Mars.

Season 5, which will be released this week, is set in 2012 and depicts the escalating economic and political conflict between Earth and the 'Happy Valley' settlement on Mars. Along with existing cast members such as Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, and Eddie Gattegui, new actors such as Mireille Enos and Costa Ronin joined.

“‘For All Mankind’ started as one of Apple TV+’s first original works in 2019 and has established itself as an innovative and epic science fiction series that captivates fans with each season,” said Matt Chernis, Apple TV+ programming chief. He added, “I look forward to viewers experiencing how this story comes to a thrilling conclusion when the final season is released next year.”

'For All Mankind' is evaluated as a work that represents Apple TV+'s competitiveness in the science fiction genre along with 'Foundation', 'Silo', 'Murderbot', and 'Invasion'. Seasons 1 to 4 are currently available to watch in full on Apple TV+.
