90s arcade sensibility to modern consoles

The new racing game 'Screamer' will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC (Xbox on PC) on March 26th. The developer said it aimed to bring back the immediate fun of 90s arcade racing to modern consoles.

Screamer is not just a racing game, but a deep story set in an animation-style dystopian worldview. Five rival teams clash in the largest illegal street racing tournament ever, with each team competing for their own reasons, including greed, love, and revenge.

Fusion of racing and fighting

The most unique feature of this game is that it combines racing with fighting game mechanics. The 'Dual Stick System' allows complete control of vehicle handling by separating steering and drift. During the race, you can use attack and defense techniques using a gauge-based system, so situational judgment, resource management, and timing strategy go beyond simple speed competition.

Like fighting games, each character has unique skills, and these abilities are closely tied to the development of each team's story. The developer explained that players will find and prefer a character that suits their driving style.

Animation·Cyberpunk visuals

The game offers four unique environments that combine animation and cyberpunk atmosphere. The neon streets of 'Neo Rey', a futuristic city where inequality is rampant, the bleak and harsh 'Sky Road Desert', and 'Forest #13', a hunting ground exclusive to the ultra-rich, appear. The fourth environment is closely related to the story and must be discovered through play.

The cinematic cutscenes were produced by Polygon Pictures, and international voice actors such as Troy Baker and Alex Le participated in the JRPG-style dialogue system.

Free progression system

Screamers can use all game modes from the beginning without unlocking them. It offers a variety of options, from solo play to team competition, and allows you to enjoy an original experience using classic racing modes and Screamer's unique mix.

The progression system also maximizes freedom. You can unlock new content in any game mode without having to play the campaign. Upon completing the event, you will receive cosmetic items for vehicle painting and parts customization, new cut scenes, artwork, additional characters, etc. as rewards.
