Valve, automatically applies new TF2 updates

Valve has released a new update for Team Fortress 2. This update is automatically applied when the game restarts and includes numerous bug fixes and gameplay improvements.

What is particularly noteworthy about this patch is that many of the modifications submitted by community developers through GitHub were reflected. Code from numerous contributors, including Grampa Swood, LizardOfOz, Bitl, and treacherousfiend, was included in the official update.

Major bug fixes

Gameplay related fixes:

  • Fixed a bug where Spy could not obtain metal from Widowmaker when disguised as an ally.
  • Solved an issue where the hit attribute did not activate when the spy disguised himself as an ally.
  • Fixed a bug where Gas Passer's gas affected players in the spawn room
  • Fixed an issue where the Vaccinator charging sound was played multiple times per tick.
  • Fixed bug where minigun barrel movement was updating multiple times per tick.

System and UI improvements:

  • Fixed crash related to KeyValues
  • Fixed issue with game mode prefix verification failure when loading workshop map
  • Fixed animation playback error in class selection menu
  • Reduced probability of failure by improving random class selection algorithm
  • Mann Co. Updated catalog controls to resemble workshop dialogs

Cosmetic and map updates

Item Update:

  • Added 'No Bullets' style to Paka Parka
  • Fixed BLU team skin error for Globetrotter second style
  • Seamann's Stubble normal map and backpack icon updated
  • Team Spirit Footprints BLU team color modification
  • Tournament medals added and updated

Map Update:

  • arena_afterlife: Fixed rare bug where players in Hell were counted as survivors.
  • koth_dusker: Fixed issue with being able to build from RED spawns, added visual divider for control zones.
  • ctf_doublecross_event: Significantly improved frame performance, reduced particle and prop usage, and adjusted structures to block sniper line of sight.
  • zi series maps (zi_atoll, zi_blazehattan, etc.): Fixed exploit where zombie spies could disguise themselves as survivors.
