Valve distributes year-end large-scale event update

Valve has officially released the Smissmas 2025 update for its classic team-based shooter game 'Team Fortress 2'. This update is automatically applied when the game restarts, and contains key content for the year-end event that runs until January 7, 2026.

All players who log in to Team Fortress 2 during the event period will receive 'Stuffed Stocking' as a gift. This item contains various rewards.

Addition of a large number of new contents

The most notable part of this update is the large-scale addition of community-created content. First, six new community maps were added. Nutcracker, Sidewinder, Abbey, Winter Ridge, Matterhorn, and Gavle are newly playable.

In terms of cosmetics, the 'Winter 2025 Cosmetic Case' has been added, and this case contains 23 community-created items. When opening the case, you can obtain ‘Festivizer’ as a bonus drop.

Three new community-created taunts have been added to the Mann Co. Store. These are ‘The Critical Fail’, ‘Dead Mann’s Drink’, and ‘Chairholder’.

Twenty new Unusual effects have also been added. It consists of 11 types for hats and 9 types for provocations, and during the event period, the Smissmas 2025 Unusual effect will be applied to all cosmetic and provocation cases instead of the regular Unusual effect. However, this does not apply to crates.

Extensive bug fixes and quality improvements

Valve fixed a number of bugs reported by the community through this update. Major fixes include the Ullapool Caber explosion not being counted as a melee kill, the minigun not rotating or rotating slowly outside of first-person view, and the Gas Passer being able to be thrown through walls.

Additionally, the Sizzling Aroma and Toxic Aroma unusual effect issues that occurred in the DirectX80 environment have been resolved, and optimization and visual issues in several maps have also been fixed.

The Manco Store is also running a year-end sale.
