Valve releases regular updates for TF2

Valve has released a new update for Team Fortress 2. This update is automatically applied when the game restarts, and includes fixes for Christmas season items and numerous bug patches.

Major changes

The core of this patch is the official reflection of community-contributed fixes. The prediction error that occurred during crouch jumping reported by 'ficool2' has been fixed, and the missing material parameter issue of The Conscientious Objector item discovered by 'Lindon' has also been resolved.

A large number of Christmas-themed items were also updated. A new smoke effect has been added to Scrooge McCrocket, and the brightness and opacity of the glass and floor textures in the Snow Dome Unusual effect have been reduced. Festive Fleece's LOD (Level of Detail) issue and Puncher's Polar Puffer's skinning issue were also fixed.

Map balance adjustment

Many map-related modifications were also made. The collision error between the central dead tree and projectiles in the koth_winter_ridge map has been resolved. The 2koth_abbey map has received more extensive adjustments, with small gaps in the spawn exterior entrances blocked and a nobuild trigger added to the high chests to make it clear that placing buildings at those locations is not possible. The clipping in the river area has also been updated, and a bug where the sniper was immune to freezing when wearing the Razorback has also been fixed.

Ongoing community collaboration

18 years after its release in 2007, Team Fortress 2 still maintains an active community. As can be seen in this update, Valve is managing the game by actively reflecting bugs discovered and fixed by community members in the official patch. This collaboration model is evaluated as a successful example of long-running service-type game operation.
